Part two: what county governments can do to create jobs

I’ve written another article about what the county governments can do to create jobs so if you get some time, please read it. In this article, I will look at a product that many people are now using. Perfumes. These days almost nobody smells sweaty (not that I go round smelling people). Some people, instead of showering, prefer to mask their scent in perfumes. Others use perfume to appeal to others so that they look and smell great. Another group depend on fragrances for investigation purposes. If your spouse has a foreign scent on them, then they must be cheating.  All these various uses have made perfumes to be a big industry. When you go to the shops I mostly find foreign brands. I have not come across any local brands. I’m not saying there are none, only that I don’t know of any (hit me up on my social media pages if you know of any). So, I went online to find out the ingredients of perfumes. I found out that it contains mainly flower extracts and alcohol. Then I thought these can be found easily almost anywhere in the country. There are so many flower farms and the weather in most parts of this land is favourable all year round. This creates a good avenue for most counties to develop an industry.

Step one:

Recruit farmers who will plant the flowers. They can be provided with training since many people have never farmed flowers. They can also be given seeds.

Step two:

While step one is going on, build a factory for the processing of the flowers. Staff should also be trained on how to produce the perfume. Foreign experts who know how to make high-quality fragrances can be recruited.

Step three:

Harvest the flowers and start making perfumes.  Here there should be differentiation on the product. There should be products for young women and men, older women and men, sweaty and non-sweaty people, strong perfumes, expensive and cheap, custom made scents etc. there are also other uses for perfumes. They can be used to make air fresheners, car fragrances, toilet fragrances and scenting bar soap. So the market is huge for good smells. The next thing is to partner with private investors to help in the selling process.

Conclusion

This idea could create thousands of jobs across the country. The only challenge I can think of is the general population rejecting the products and instead opting for what they are used to. Hopefully, that will not happen.
