Its 2019 and you probably want to start a business. Here are some ideas for you.

                       i.          Phone leasing

Every adult needs a phone. It’s a requirement to survive in the world we live in. some need just a basic phone that can make and receive calls while others need a more high end phone that can recognize your face. One problem to owning a phone is money. Mobile phones are not all cheap and cheap ones are sometimes not very good. This creates a business opportunity. Phone leasing, in my own definition, is a process whereby you deposit some cash to a business owner and he gives you a phone to use for a period of time. When this time elapses, you have to return the phone in the condition that it was in. any damage to the phone will repaired using the deposit you left when taking the phone. Charges will vary depending on the type of phone.

Someone may ask, what if a client leases a phone and decides not to return it?. Well he forfeits his deposit. Also a tracking device can be put in the phone in case the client doesn’t return it.

                      ii.          Clothes leasing

In our modern society we all have to wear modern clothes. Gone are the days you would take some animal skin, wrap it around your body and say you are well dressed. Also we have to dress for the occasion. When going for a job interview, court hearing or presenting a business proposal to a bank you can’t go with jeans and a t-shirt. You have to look presentable. This can be difficult for young people because the cost of formal clothes is very high. This problem can be solved by leasing clothes. Just like phone leasing business, damages to the clothes will be charged to the client. This idea is already being done successfully with wedding dresses. Many brides only get married once so they see no need to own an expensive dress that will end up gathering dust in their closet. So this business has been done successfully for them and it needs to be expanded to the general public.  

                     iii.          Cheap Wi-Fi

The internet is slowly becoming a basic need. It provides a source of immense knowledge. The price also is immense to some. This has brought about the need for cheap Wi-Fi. In the past we used to go to cyber cafes to access internet services because very few could afford a computer and internet access to their homes. Today many people have computers and smartphone that can access the internet. The cost is still too high. This creates a need to have a cheaper alternative. Some businesses have already started to offer cheap Wi-Fi to people. Their business is thriving because many people are already addicted to the internet.

                     iv.          Irrigation equipment

The weather in the past few years has been very unpredictable. Many farmers have lost their harvests due to poor weather. Some areas have flooded while others have experienced drought. Farmers usually get very frustrated by their losses. What many of them need is irrigation equipment. The basic need for all plants is water. Without it there will be no crops. With irrigation equipment, this problem can be solved. In areas where the rains are regular, farmers may be reluctant to buy equipment to water their fields. They may think they will only use it once or twice and leave it to rust. So the business idea here is to rent out that equipment. You may also sell them the water to water their fields. This business will only work in areas where the rains tend to fail.

                      v.          Vlogging 

In the past, media houses controlled all the content people watched. In today’s world, with a camera and an internet connection, anyone can be a content creator. The problem with this type of business is many have stated that it takes a long time to make money from this venture. The common narrative is one has to get a lot of followers first and then approach corporates in order to get advertising money from them. This can sometimes take up to a year to do and many give up before that time lapses. Is there an easier way? Here is my theory. What if someone starts a vlog(online video channel) and from the very first video, present your audience with a product to buy? For example you may start a vlog about fashion. You present some beautiful clothes and at the end of the video you tell your audience that those clothes are for sale. Maybe some may want to buy them and maybe you can make money from your first video. Here are some other vlog ideas
