The world is becoming more dependent on digital content. Gone are the days people will go to the library to search for information. With a smartphone, you have access to an incredible amount of knowledge in the palm of your hands. This has led to an ever increasing need for online content. This cycle usually continues because if you buy a stolen item from a thief, how sure are you he will not follow you and steal it back? This problem can be reduced if an online inventory containing a list of all stolen items is created. This is how I think it will work. First when you buy an item, take photos of it and record as much details of it as you can. This can include serial numbers, IMEI numbers (phones), or you can put a secret mark on the item that the thieves will not notice. If your item gets stolen, post the photos of the item on the website. If someone who uses the website, notices the item being sold somewhere in a shop or on social media, he/she informs you and you can seek the help of the police to recover your item. This could reduce the cases of crime.

Human beings are social animals. We will always want to interact with others. The online space has provided an easy way to make new friends and also share ideas. It is slowly becoming very boring. Human beings are also competitive animals. We always want to win. We are always curious to know who is the richest, fastest, most beautiful, most athletic, most popular, most talented person is. That is why we have competitions. Organizing events where people compete is usually quite difficult. You have to book a venue, organize security, sell tickets, ask permission from the relevant authorities, look for sound equipment and many other issues. If you go online, you don’t have to worry about all these issues. Ok, someone could ask, how can you play football online? Of course the answer is you can’t. However you can show off your skills online. Other areas are like music, comedy, poetry, basketball, dancing and many more. The list can be nearly endless. So how does the site work? People join and upload their content. They then invite their friends to like their videos. The person with the most likes becomes king/queen of the category they are in e.g king of comedy. Other ranks can be prince/princess for maybe the second best in each category. Those who are struggling could have ranks like chief or assistant chief so that they don’t quit the site. Once the site becomes popular, big celebrities could be pressured to join since they will want to fight for the title of king/queen.

Love is a very powerful emotion that controls many of our actions. Romance is one branch of love that gets a lot of attention. This is because many people want to marry and have a family. This process has become more challenging as years go by. In the past, when a man and a woman come of age, it was the duty of the parents to look for a suitable marriage mate for them. This practice is slowly disappearing. Many opt for looking for their own mate. This has proved to be disastrous in some cases. Some have regretted the person they chose while others are struggling to look for someone to marry. This problem has partly been solved by the introduction of dating websites. Many people have found love. This is because from the comfort of your home, you are able to see a multiple number of people who are also looking for love. However some have abused this comfort. Some take this opportunity to date multiple people at once with no intention of creating anything special with them. Another danger is that some people are actually thieves and will use these platforms to lure people to steal from them. How can these problems be solved? I have a theory. In china there is a higher number of men who want to marry as opposed to women who want to get married. This is because of their one child policy which ran for decades. This led to parents doing all they can to make sure they give birth to a boy. This led to a lower birth rate for girls which created a shortage of women. Now in that country, dating is big business. One way they do it is through matchmakers. In that country some matchmakers require you to come with at least one of your parents. This is a security measure so that they actually know where you are coming from. Before you start date, both sets of parents meet first and discuss any issues they see as important. This helps to iron out any serious concerns the parents could have. What is the point of this story? The same may be applied on a dating website. When you join the site, you have to provide details of your parents or older relatives. Before you take someone out, they have to sit down and discuss. Of course some people are crafty and they will hire parents. This however will not occur frequently. For those people who are genuine, they will find dating to be smoother since their respective families already approve. Also it will help solve the problem of accidentally dating your cousin!
